From Field to Main: Flower Farm Tour and Design Workshop

100.00 110.00

This three-hour workshop begins in the flower fields you have been dreaming of seeing! First you'll tour the urban flower farm at 201 N. 22nd Street in all of it’s fall glory and receive gardening and flower harvesting tips from Phoebe and Kate. Then you'll go to the new Studio in the Local 132 Co. building at 132 Main Street in Goshen for light refreshments and a design workshop that focuses on the asymmetrical botanical style that Phoebe loves. All your supplies, including flowers and vase, are included in the price. Participants will provide their own transportation and will be asked to sign a waiver (printed below) in order to be able to visit the farm.

We are very excited about inviting you to visit the Flowers by Phoebe garden space at Kurtz’s farm at 201 N 22nd Street, Goshen IN 46528! Visiting the farm does have some risks and to protect the Kurtz’s property and our business we ask that you consider the following guidelines below and please also read the following waiver. You will be asked to sign the waiver at checkout.

  1. Please be sure that old clothes and shoes are worn to the farm. This is a real farm with all of the weather and excitement of the outdoors! We encourage sun and bug protection (hats, sunscreen, and bug spray).  Please make sure to apply all chemicals in the parking area and not around our flowers or in the garden itself, as the spray can damage plants. If you are allergic to bees or other stinging insects please let us know and carry the necessary protection should you be stung.

  2. The ground is uneven and there are sometimes obstacles that can be tripped over. Step carefully and pay attention to your footing especially when carrying buckets of blooms or when the ground is wet.

  3. Poison ivy, stinging nettle, and a few of the flowers we grow may cause allergic reactions. We will point these out to you as often as possible but be aware that long sleeves, pants and gloves are advised.

  4. Stay hydrated! Make sure to bring water bottles and drink from them often.

  5. We often take photos and/or videos of our farm and those working on it. These photos may appear on our website, in published materials and/or on social media. We also encourage you to send us photos you take at the farm, so we may add them to our collection. Images may be texted to Phoebe at 574-238-4930 or emailed to shelaughsinflowers@gmail.com.

We love talking about local flowers and here are a few resources that we recommend if you want to continue to educate yourself more about why local flowers are so very important.
